ASSAULT RIFLE
HALO Licensed Model. An Assault rifle is a select-fire weapon that fires an intermediate rifle cartridge and uses a projectile with a muzzle energy between those of a full-sized rifle and a smaller submachine gun or pistol. Assault rifles are categorized between battle rifles, which fire a full-sized rifle cartridge, and submachine guns, which fire a pistol cartridge rather than the more powerful rifle cartridge.

HALO Licensed Model. One of the smallest Forerunner weapon-ships, the Phaeton was employed in the billions during the long, fruitless, war against the virulent Flood. A single Forerunner warrior could command thousands of Phaetons and support vessels, trusting in their Soldier pilots to self-organize into tactical phalanxes that could be thrown against the trillions of Flood combat forms and their vast fleets of corrupted Forerunner ships. Few survived to see the firing of the Halo Array, though their remains form debris rings around shattered worlds and dead fleets throughout the galaxy.

It is used in operations requiring heavy firepower or an anti-vehicular platform. Combining firepower, resilience and mobility, the Scorpion has proven itself formidable and earned the respect of friend and foe alike. The Scorpion may not be the most powerful or the fastest of the UNSC's fleet of main battle tanks, but for the most part, it represents the best possible balance between mobility and firepower.
